Here’s my Macworld 2007 Predictions. They’re completely out of thin air, and most of them are just what I would think Apple’s natural progression would be, but also including a few hopeful ideas of my own.
Hardware:
• Mac Mini - upgraded to Core 2 Duo, improved graphics, 1GB RAM standard in high end model
• Mac Pro - 8 core version available
• Displays - 17″ to 19″ value priced model available, entire lineup gets iSights
• Networking - 802.11n models available in Q3
• iSight - New version, USB 2.0, cheaper
• No changes on iMac, MacBook or MacBook Pro
iPods:
• No changes
• Mentions of iTunes store carrying even more artists, including the Beatles
Software:
• iLife ‘07
• iWork ‘07, includes a basic spreadsheet program (”Charts”?)
• .Mac gets more storage (2GB?)
• Leopard is available immediately to beat Vista to the market
Other:
• iTV is dubbed “Apple TV”, available in Q2. Uses 802.11g but upgradeable via firmware to 802.11n when it’s completed. Will support streaming directly from iTunes on machines in the home, and also lets you purchase items from iTS on the device. $299?
• iPhone gets no mention, all the rumor mongers are disappointed, and complain, like usual.
