Everyone’s favorite eco-terrorists, Greenpeace, is having an online poll as to what to name their newest humpback whale. The choices are the usual Greenpeace fare, including Bumi, Paz, Shanti, etc. One exception is “Mister Splashy Pants,” which is “too funny to leave out.” I suppose it’s funny if you’re a 12 year old Pokemon fan. I just noticed this CMA - Country Music Awards ad on the iTunes Store.

It looks strikingly similar to the Star Trek insignia, specifically the barred background one from Future Imperfect.

I wonder if the designers even considered that it looks a lot like the Trek logo that’s been around since the late 1960s. It’s all over [...]
