Making the Most Amazing R2-D2 Cake Ever – B-Side Blog
Completely edible (minus a dowel or two). Fondant covered red velvet cake, rice krispie legs.
Though as a true Star Wars geek, I have to point out that it’s not R2-D2. It’s an R2 class droid for sure, based on markings and design, and it’s similar to Obi-Wan’s R4-P17, but the colors are reversed.

14|Jun|2008 1You and me? We are TOTALLY making this cake for Laura’s 9th birthday. Except we’ll make the markings and design into a proper R2-D2.

14|Jun|2008 2P.S. You’ve either seen the cakes (or pictures of the cakes) that I’ve made for her birthdays, yes? The 3D Pooh and rubber duck cake from this year being among my favs. I actually wrote a post and planned to upload photos to my blog of my cake making. My one and only claim to fame in the kitchen are those cakes.
I’m long overdue for a Kitchen Aid mixer. It would be the one small kitchen appliance that I actually use rather than merely store here for your visits.

14|Jun|2008 3Final thought, and then I’ll stop filling up your comment section: This would be an ideal wedding cake for a certain couple I know.

01|Oct|2008 4I would love to know how you made this cake. I have to make one for a groom’s cake and I’m at a lost on how to make it.

The cake was made by Mark Joseph Cakes, not me. Unfortunately my cooking skills are not in the fantastic cake arena.
